Belgrade Security Forum suspended its activities indefinitely
On July 12, 2022, the Belgrade Security Forum suspended its activities indefinitely.
We would like to take this opportunity to inform all of our partners, former speakers and participants, friends and supporters of the Belgrade Security Forum that the suspension of activities will continue and that the Belgrade Security Forum will not take place in 2023.
Furthermore, there are no other events, programs, or activities that represent a continuation of the Belgrade Security Forum, and there will be none in the future.
From 2011 to 2021, the Belgrade Security Forum was a platform for representatives of various communities to share their views, opinions, and recommendations on how to improve our societies, how to bring the Western Balkans closer to Europe, but also a place that brought the world closer to our region.
The Belgrade Security Forum was also a venue for inclusive, challenging discussions about some of the most pressing global, regional, and national issues, bringing opposing sides together and emphasizing the importance of dialogue between them.
As a result, the decision to suspend activities was difficult, especially given that it occurred at a time when the discussion about the global society’s core issues are more needed than ever. We wanted to preserve the legacy of the Belgrade Security Forum, which was the most important high-level foreign policy and security event in our part of the world, rather than change its core meaning and vision.
We would also like to thank all of our partners and friends who have expressed interest in the future of the Belgrade Security Forum in recent months, and to emphasize that our decision to extend the suspension was not an easy one, and that we are saddened that there is no option for true continuation of our joint effort at this time.
We thank you for your support and understanding,
Belgrade Security Forum team
