Biography
Dr. Dejan Jović is Professor of International Relations at Faculty of Political Science at the University of Zagreb, a Visiting Professor at University of Belgrade and a Visiting Research Fellow at Goldsmiths, University of London. He received his PhD from the London School of Economics in 1999, was Jean Monnet Fellow at European University Institute in Florence in 2000 and a Lecturer in Politics at University of Stirling, Scotland from 2000 to 2010. Dr. Jović was President of the Managing Board of the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO) in Zagreb (2014-16), Special Advisor to Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs (2004-2006) and Chief Political Analyst to the President of the Republic of Croatia (2010-2014). Dr. Jović is the author of Yugoslavia: A State that Withered Away (Citation, 2009) and editor of several other books on disintegration of Yugoslavia and theories of IR. His new book, War and Myth: Politics of Identity in Croatia, is due in October 2017. He teaches courses on Foreign Policy Analysis, Introduction to International Politics, Introduction to Security Studies, Politics and Society in South-East Europe and Theories of International Relations. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Croatian Political Science Review (Politička misao).
