Biography
Věra Stojarová works as an Academic Researcher and Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Social Studies at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. She has focused her professional career on the study of nationalism, far right politics and security and politics in the Western Balkans as well as Central Europe. Věra Stojarová has published many texts dealing with right-wing politics in the region including The Far Right in the Balkans (Manchester University Press, 2014). She has also worked in the NGO sector, lecturing on the unique security problems which societies in transition face (including lectures for the People in Need Foundation, lectures for Burmese dissidents in Thailand, lectures in Transnistria). She is one of the leading Balkan security experts in the European academic community. In 1997 she studied at the Hague, was granted stay at the J.F. Kennedy Institute in Berlin in 2004, and studying in Heidelberg on a grant provided by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation from 2005-2006. She performed a fellowship with the IWM Institute in Wien in 2009.
