BSF 2013 Started
The third Belgrade Security Forum began this Thursday morning in Belgrade.
Belgrade Security Forum 2013 will last for three days, from 19th to 21st September 2013 and gather numerous high officials from different countries, as well as representatives from prestigious research and science institutes, civil society organizations, parliaments and media, who will discuss different topics under the working title Is the state under de(construction)? Risks and responses from the Balkans and beyond.
The Forum started with the Academic session that discussed Transformation of State and Professional Practices in International Security.
H.E. Nils Ragnar Kamsvåg, Ambassador of Norway in Serbia gave opening remarks, after which Sonja Stojanović Gajić, director of Belgrade Center for Security Policy and one of the Forum coordinators, welcomed everyone to the event.
The Academic event began with the keynote speech given by senior researcher at the ARENA Centre for European Studies in Oslo‚ Dr Mai’a K. Davis Cross.
Filip Ejdus, member of the BCSP Management Board and Lecturer at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade chaired the first Panel of the Academic session dedicated to the Transformations of Diplomacy topic.
After the break, professor Milada Anna Vachudova opened the second Panel dedicated to the Transformation of Security Professions in the Balkans topic.
After lunch Academic event ends with third Panel dedicated to Security Professions Beyond the State topic.
