Biography
Kenan Dautović was born on 20 April 1966 in Travnik, Bosnia and Herzegovina. After completing his studies at the Air Defence Military Academy in Sarajevo and Zadar in 1989, he received his master’s degree in 2005 and his PhD in 2009, both from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Sarajevo. He has been visiting lecturer at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Sarajevo, the International University of Sarajevo, and the Faculty of Political Science in Sarajevo, where in April 2010 he was elected Associate Professor at the Department for Security and Peace Studies. In this role he teaches modules on “Social Conflict Prevention” in the II Cycle and “Theory and Praxis of Conflict Prevention” in the III Cycle as per the Bologna Process. His research fields include social conflict analysis, peace philosophy, social conflict prevention; unresolved conflicts, early warning, NATO alliance and BiH’s path towards NATO membership, the strategic-doctrinal framework of BiH, security community, and the military as a profession. He has participated in several international research projects and has published two books and seven academic articles. In his military professional capacity he commands an infantry brigade with the rank of promotable colonel.
