Amb. István Gyarmati

Amb. István Gyarmati is currently President of the International Centre for Democratic Transition in Budapest. His career has spanned numerous postings in the Hungarian Foreign Ministry and Department of Defence including Deputy State Secretary for Integration, Ministry of Defense, Under-secretary of Policy, Ministry of Defence, Chairman of the Missile Technology Control Regime, Special Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Chairman of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and Senior Vice President of the East West Institute. He is currently also acting as Chairman of the UN Secretary-General Advisory Committee on Disarmament.
