Olga Mitrović

Holder of MA in Peace and Conflict studies from Australian National University, Olga Mitrović worked for four years in the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration and IOM Serbia on asylum policies, refugee and IDP protection, harmonisation with EU acquis and migration management. She worked on EU and SDC funded projects, wrote national strategic documents and contributed to data collection in line with the EUROSTAT. For her work and contribution to public administration reform, Olga obtained JCI award Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Serbia, as well as Chevening scholarship to complete second MSc in International Migration and Public Policy at the London School of Economics. Presently, she works as a business development consultant on EU projects in Western Balkans for the British Council. She also does consultancy work for IOM Serbia and the UN Secretariat in Geneva as a press officer. Her research interests are humanitarian and human rights law, protracted refugee crises, asylum acquis and migration and development. She has published in Forced Migration Review, Politika Hong Kong, Journal of European Expression and WB Security Observer, written for LSE European Politics and Policy and Balkans in Europe policy blogs, and assisted in drafting of several IOM publications. She is currently writing the IOM policy handbook on migration and local development.
