Biography
Frédéric Mondoloni was born on September 23, 1971. He graduated from the Institute of Political Sciences of Paris and the National School of Administration in 1998.
A career diplomat, he has served at the Directorate for North Africa and the Middle East (1998-2000) and the Directorate for Strategic Affairs, Security and Disarmament (2000-2002). He then occupied the positions of exchange diplomat at the State Department in Washington (2002-2003), 1st Secretary of the French embassy in Washington (2003-2005), deputy diplomatic advisor in the Cabinet of the Prime Minister (2005-2007), diplomatic advisor of the Minister of Defense (2007-2009), Governor for France at the International Atomic Energy Agency (2009-2013) and Minister Counsellor in Moscow (2013-2017).
From 2017 to 2019, ambassador Mondoloni served as Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Serbia. In July 2019, he was appointed director of the Directorate for Continental Europe, which covers Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Western Balkans.
