Anita Orbán
Biography
Anita Orban is the Ambassador-at-Large for Energy Security to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Hungary. She is also Director of Constellation Energy Institute, a think tank which fosters cooperation on energy security issues in Central Eastern Europe by working closely with corporate and political decision-makers. She is the author of the book Power, Energy and the New Russian Imperialism. Previously (2005-2008), she served as the Executive Vice President of the Budapest-based International Centre for Democratic Transition (ICDT). She has been a foreign affairs columnist for Heti Valasz, one of Hungary’s leading political weeklies, and served as editor of its foreign affairs section. Orban is a frequent speaker on foreign policy issues and contributor to journals published in Hungary, Poland, Estonia, and the UK. She has advanced degrees in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and has taught at various universities in Budapest.
