Biography
Dr. Annemarie Peen Rodt is Associate Professor at the Institute for Strategy, Royal Danish Defence College. Her research appraises strategic approaches to the Protection of Civilians (POC) in peace operations and crisis management—primarily in wider Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. Ongoing H2020 research projects of hers include, “Preventing and Responding to Conflict: Developing EU Civilian Capabilities—EU-CIVCAP” and “Improving Effectiveness of Capabilities in EU Conflict Prevention—IECEU”. Her recent books include The European Union and Military Conflict Management: Defining, Evaluating and Achieving Success, Theorising the European Union as an International Security Provider (co-authored with Richard G. Whitman and Stefan Wolff), and Self-Determination After Kosovo (with Stefan Wolff). Recent collaborative activities include establishing the Nordic Protection Platform and participating in the Task Force on EU Prevention of Mass Atrocities. Dr. Rody primarily teaches at the Royal Danish Defence College and the European Security and Defence College, but frequently guest lectures for both academic and practitioner audiences.
