Enver Ferhatović
Biography
Enver Ferhatović is a Research Fellow at the Center for Transnational Studies, Foreign and Security Policy (ATASP). He studied Political Science/Law at the Freie Universität Berlin and Islamic Sciences at Sarajevo/Cairo University. Ferhatovic worked with the UN, EU and OSCE mostly in crisis areas (Balkans, Eastern Europe, Horn of Africa, Central Asia) between 1998 and 2014.His relevant positions include: Senior Political Advisor for Strategy for UN’s High Representative/EU Special Representative to Bosnia and Herzegowina, 2006-2008 (OHR/EUSR BiH), Political Advisor to the EU Special Representative to Sudan(EUSR SUDAN) 2008-2010, Head of Strategic Planning, Analysis and Reporting Department at the EU Police Mission to Afghanistan 2012 (EUPOL AFG) and Political Advisor for Kenya and Somalia to the EU Capacity Building Mission at the Horn of Africa 2013 (EUCAP NESTOR). Ferhatovic is the author of ‘Avoiding Another Disaster in Sudan, Lessons for the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy’ (Turkish Foreign Policy Quarterly, 2010) and ‘European Security and Defence Policy in action’ (in Michael Merlingen and Rasa Ostrauskaite (eds.), European Security and Defence Policy: an Implementation Perspective, Routledge, 2008).
