Biography
Fr Robin Fox moved to Belgrade in 2004 to work as the Anglican Chaplain for Serbia, and as the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Apokrisiarios to His Holiness, the Patriarch of Serbia, after nine years in parish ministry in the United Kingdom (South Shields, in the Diocese of Durham, and Upper Edmonton in the Diocese of London – both areas of urban deprivation, and in the latter case with a vast ethnic and cultural / religious diversity). Although working mostly in Belgrade, Fr Robin has also shared pastoral oversight of the Anglican communities in Sarajevo, Skopje and Zagreb, and has been involved in a number of humanitarian charitable efforts, most notably working with a group of IDPs from Kosovo in an unregistered camp near Grocka. His Apokrisiarial role has meant that throughout his time in Serbia, Fr Robin has had close contacts with the Serbian Orthodox Church, and was privileged to be one of the Archbishop of Canterbury’s delegates when His Holiness, Patriarch Irinej, visited London in 2016. He, and the Anglican Church in Belgrade, also maintain close links with the Roman Catholic Church and other partners in ecumenical and inter-religious dialogue. Since 2009, Fr Robin has also worked as a teacher of English to help support his ministry in Belgrade.
