Biography
Nebojša Stefanović was born on 20 November 1976 in Belgrade. He finished IX Grammar School „Mihajlo Petrović Alas“ in Belgrade, and graduated from the Graduate School of Business Studies of the Megatrend University. Dr Nebojša Stefanović He earned his master’s degree in Economics in 2011 defending his master’s thesis „Modern Principles of Management in Local Self-Government“. From 2004 to 2008 worked for the domestic and foreign trade company „Interspeed“ Ltd. occupying the position of Marketing Manager. In 2008 he was appointed Financial Manager in „Jabuka“ Ltd. He was a councilor in the City Assembly of Belgrade from 2004 to 2008. In the 2007 parliamentary elections he became Member of Parliament, and he also served as Chair of the Committee for Trade and Tourism of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. In the 2012 elections he was elected member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and councilor in the City Assembly of Belgrade. From July 2012 until April 2014, Nebojša Stefanović was Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and Chair of the Committee for the Rights of the Child. He also headed the Delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Nebojša Stefanović received his doctorate in June 2013 with the thesis „A New Role of Strategic Management in Managing Local Self-Government“. At 2014 parliamentary elections he was elected MP. He is one of the founders of the Serbian Progressive Party, a member of its Presidium, Vice-President of the Party’s Main Committee and President of the SPP’s Belgrade Committee. Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, speaks English and Russian. He is married to Ana and has a daughter, Nina.
