Biography
Peter Shirlow is Professor of Conflict Transformation at the School of Law, Queen’s University Belfast. He has produced 7 books on conflict in Ireland. His latest book The End of Ulster Loyalism? was recently published by Manchester University Press. His previous book, Abandoning Historical Conflict?, won the Brian Farrell book prize in 2011. Professor Shirlow has worked on conflict transformation initiatives in Columbia, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Iraq and also Palestine-Israel. He is presently working on hate crime issues in the European Union. His research has been supported with funding form bodies such as the NIH, ESRC, JRCT, Leverhulme and OFM-DFM.
